A 13-year-old girl who was arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman has been released on bail.

A woman in her 50s was not breathing when police arrived at the house in Swindon at about 19:00 GMT on Friday after being called to a disorder.

The woman, who was in her 50s and lived at the house in Baydon Close, Moredon, died at the scene, Wiltshire Police said.

The girl was later arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody for questioning. She has since been bailed while enquiries continue.

The force said while there was no risk to the public, residents can expect increased police presence in the area.

"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident," a spokesperson said.

"As this is a live investigation, please refrain from speculating online as this could prejudice the ongoing case."

Anyone with concerns is being encouraged to speak to their neighbourhood policing team.
