Man and woman assaulted at taxi rank

The incident happened at the taxi rank on Duncombe Place on 6 November

A man and a woman were assaulted at a taxi rank in York by suspects they had met on a night out, police said.

The man was left with black eyes and a broken nose following the incident, which happened at Duncombe Place between 04:00 and 04:30 GMT on Wednesday 6 November.

The victims had met the suspects at the Drawing Board bar earlier in the evening and were then followed to the taxi rank, North Yorkshire Police said.

Following an earlier appeal to trace two men in connection with the incident, the force said it had now identified both people.
