Guide to Christmas markets across the region

A range of Christmas markets are being held across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

With the festive season fast approaching thoughts are turning to presents to put under the Christmas tree.
Across the region craftspeople are planning to sell their products at Christmas Markets, big and small.
Here is a selection of events due to be held in the region in the coming weeks.
While some are free to attend, others may require tickets to be booked in advance. Contact organisers for prices and availability.
Christmas markets in Hull and East Yorkshire
Bridlington Christmas Food Festival
Saturday 15 November 10:00 – 18:00 GMT and Sunday 16 November 10:00 - 16:00.
The monthly King Street food festival gets a Christmas makeover offering street food, drinks and also gifts.
It runs alongside the Bridlington Ice Trail featuring hand-carved ice sculptures.
Sledmere Christmas Fair
Wednesday 26 November and Thursday 27 November - 09:00 - 16:30.
The East Yorkshire stately home holds this two-day event featuring food and festive gifts.
Admission is £6.25, which also includes parking and entry to the grounds.
Hull Danish Church
Saturday 29 November - 10:00 - 16:00.
A favourite fixture for many years it offers a large selection of Scandinavian design, Christmas decorations, gifts, candles and specialty foods.
It is held in the historic church on the city's Ferensway.
The entry fee is £2, which includes a glass of gløgg and a biscuit with free admission for children.
Cottingham Christmas Festival
Sunday 30 November - 10:00 - 16:30.
The village of Cottingham sees more than 20,00 people flock to this annual event, which also sees the switching on of the Christmas lights.
Market stalls offering gifts as well as food and drink and entertainment.

SENDsational Christmas Market
Saturday 13 December - 10:00 - 16:30.
Billed as "the very first Christmas market tailored specifically for people with disabilities and their families".
Organiser Adam Nielsen, from the SEND Life HEY podcast, said the free event in Princes Quay in Hull will offer market stalls, face painting, a scavenger hunt and Christmas movies.

Beverley Festival of Christmas
Sunday 14 December - 10:00 - 16:00.
Billed as the country's biggest one-day Christmas event, the festival sees the streets of the East Yorkshire town filled with stalls, attractions and performers.
Fairground rides and brass bands will help create the Christmas spirit as well as an appearance by Santa and his reindeer.
Pocklington Christmas Market
Saturday 20 December 10:00 - 18:00 and Sunday 21 December 10:00 - 16:00.
The final weekend before Christmas Day sees Pocklington filled with stalls and a stage featuring live music.
Shops, pubs and restaurants in the town centre will also be joining in the festive fun.
Christmas markets in Lincolnshire
Walled Garden Baumber
Saturday 8 November and Sunday 9 November and Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November - 10:00 - 16:00 both weekends.
The walled garden near Horncastle is hosting two events in the run up to Christmas.
The weekend of the 8 and 9 of November sees a craft fair selling handmade gifts with a festive food fair on the 22 and 23 November.
Alford Christmas Craft Market
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November and Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November - 10:00 - 16:00 each day.
The town's Corn Exchange is hosting two consecutive weekends of stalls selling goods from local Lincolnshire makers.
It is one of the county's longest running Christmas fairs having started in 1974.
Refreshments will be available at the Corn Exchange Cafe.
Burghley House
27 November - 30 November.
The stately home near Stamford holds a four-day Christmas event with the estate's buildings covered in festive decorations.
Tickets must be booked in advance.

Ropewalk Christmas Art Market
Saturday 6 December and Sunday 7 December - 10:00 - 16:00 both days.
The waterside arts centre in Barton-upon-Humber plays host to more than 50 stalls offering arts and crafts by local makers.
The restaurant and coffee short will be offering festive food plus a chance to take part in a cake tombola.
Festive Makers Market
Saturday 13 December - 10:00 - 16:00.
The Lincolnshire Showground near Lincoln will see more than 100 small businesses offering gifts and food and drink.
