Party shooting suspect in court after Spain arrest

A man arrested in Spain in connection with a fatal shooting in Essex has appeared in court to face a murder charge.

Robert Powell, 50, suffered 15 bullet wounds as he left a house party in Roydon, near Harlow, in the early hours of 13 June 2020.

Temitope Adeyinka, 40, of Buxton Road in Stratford, east London, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday via a prison video link.

Mr Adeyinka returned to the UK last week after he was located and arrested in Spain.

He was remanded in custody and a pre-trial hearing will take place on 2 August, with a court location yet to be set.

Mr Powell was a father-of-three and had two grandchildren.
