Cyclist's death 'impossible to come to terms with'

Police in Hertfordshire are appealing for more information about Nigel Woodhead's death on 24 May

The family of a cyclist killed in Buckinghamshire said his death was "impossible to come to terms with".

Nigel Woodhead, from St Albans, was cycling in Bovingdon Green at about 11:00 BST on 24 May.

A man in his 20s was arrested by police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but was released on bail.

Mr Woodhead's family said: "It is impossible to come to terms with the sudden and tragic loss of such a caring, selfless and intelligent man who was so full of life and excited about his future."

Mr Woodhead's family said he was a keen cyclist with a "mischievous sense of humour"

“We have been blown away by the outpouring of kind words about Nigel, who touched the lives of so many people with his wise words, attentive ears and mischievous sense of humour," the family said.

They added he was a keen cyclist and a week before his death had completed a four-day and 350-mile (563km) cycle trip to the Pennine Cycleway.
