Drivers and rail passengers are being warned of delays after a lorry was left stuck under a bridge in Hampshire.

The A3057 Greatbridge Road in Romsey has been closed after the vehicle crashed into the 14ft 3in (4.3m) bridge earlier.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the lorry was waiting to be pulled out, with drivers being diverted.

South Western Railway said there were delays to services between Romsey and Dean as trains were having to run at reduced speed over the bridge.

The structure is waiting to be examined, the train firm said.

Police warned the road was expected to be closed for several hours.
