Manx Electric Railway services resume after fault

Services on a section of the Manx Electric Railway have resumed after being suspended due to a fault with an overhead cable.
Scheduled journeys between Derby Castle on Douglas Promenade and Laxey Station were halted for a short period on Friday as engineers worked to fix the issue.
Chief engineer Andrew Cowie said power had needed to be "isolated" before repairs could be made, which led to the suspension "for safety reasons".
The team made "a swift repair" to a section of cable in the Port Jack area, which had "detached from its mounting" allowing the timetable to be restored by 11:00 BST, he added.
Isle of Man Transport previously said services between Laxey and Ramsey were unaffected by the works.
The Manx Electric Railway forms part of the Isle of Man's heritage rail network.
First opened in 1893 between Douglas and Groudle, the line was extended to Laxey the following year.
