Driver dies in lorry, van and car crash

A driver has died in a crash involving a lorry, a van and a car.
The fatal collision happened on the A66 between Bridgefoot and Broughton Cross in Cumbria at about 10:00 BST on Tuesday and involved a Volkswagon Golf, a Scania HGV and a Volkswagon Caddy panel van.
Cumbria Police said the driver of the Golf died at the scene, while the driver of the Caddy suffered minor injuries. The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
The road was closed while officers continued with their investigations, but has since reopened.
The force has appealed for witnesses to and footage of the crash.
