Woman in her 90s hit in face in town centre attack

Police said the victim, who is in her 90s, was struck by a woman in Reading town centre

A woman in her 90s was taken to hospital after being assaulted in Reading town centre.
The victim was sitting on a bench outside Marks & Spencer in Friar Street between 15:30 BST and 16:00 on Tuesday when a woman approached and attacked her.
Thames Valley Police said the victim was hit across the face, resulting in her falling off the bench and suffering an injury to her left eye socket. She has since been discharged from hospital.
The force urged witnesses to get in touch with any information they might have.
