The body of a man has been found during searches for a missing hillwalker in the West Highlands, police have confirmed.

He is yet to be formally identified, but the family of 61-year-old Richard Dawson, who had been reported missing in the Glen Shiel area on Saturday, has been informed.

The body was found in an area below the ridge of the Five Sisters of Kintail at about 16:00 on Monday.

Police Scotland said there were no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
