Woman raped on footbridge by dog walker - police

A woman was reportedly raped by a man walking a dog in Cleethorpes, Humberside Police said.

The victim was walking along a footbridge near Harrington Street when she was attacked at about 21:40 GMT on Sunday.

The attacker is aged between 19 and 21, about 5ft 6in (170cm) tall and clean shaven with short hair. He was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Ch Insp Jim Clough said detectives were conducting house to house inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.

"I know this incident will be of extreme concern to the local community and whilst our investigation into the incident is in its early stages, I want to offer my reassurance that my officers are exploring all lines of enquiry," Mr Clough said.
