'I'm running a marathon in every city in England'

Adam Rodriguez is taking in the sites at each city he visits

A man is on a mission to run a marathon in every city in England within a year.
Adam Rodriguez, 29, who lives in Langport, Somerset, began his 55-marathon challenge on 5 July in Hereford and will complete it in his mum's hometown of Salisbury in Wiltshire next June.
His mum had cancer several years ago, so he is raising money for Move Against Cancer, which supports people impacted by the disease to exercise to help improve outcomes.
"I'm doing this challenge to see every corner of England, to test both my body and my mind, and to embrace the adventure that comes with pushing beyond comfort, one marathon, once city and one story at a time," Mr Rodriguez said.
The runner explained his mum was diagnosed with a large B-cell lymphoma that spread across multiple parts of her body.
"Whilst she survived, the journey tested every part of our family - a reminder of the quiet, relentless strength it takes to face cancer, not just for those diagnosed but for everyone who loves them," he said.
"I wanted to do something that helps the fight against cancer," he said, mentioning that his chosen charity offered free exercise plans for young people living with the disease.

Mr Rodriguez is keeping a video diary for each English city he visits
Mr Rodriguez, who previously lived in Bath and trained for his challenge there, has run a few marathons before, but "nothing to this extreme", he said.
"I'm just making sure I'm doing all the sensible things - the absolute basics," he explained, such as eating 700g of carbs per day and taking an ice bath every week.
"I'm quite confident that my body's able to adjust to it," he added.
He has already explored a lot of the UK, running in Bath, Hereford, Carlisle and Truro amongst others.
"There's so many different places that I would never have seen before," said the runner.
Last week he was in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, which has the longest pleasure pier in the world.
"I never would have known that," he said, adding that it was "nice to go and embrace that" and see things "people are proud of".

Part of Mr Rodriguez's marathon in Bath on Saturday was the local Park Run
He plans to run at least one marathon every weekend; his challenge will finish in Salisbury, where his mum and many of his friends still live.
"The idea is to have a big send-off and party at the end of it, if I'm able to stand", he said.
"It's going to be such a surreal feeling once it's all over. It will be a nice sense of relief to know it's all done."
Mr Rodriguez's mum is now fully recovered and is "very proud" of him, he said, tracking each of his runs and following his video diaries.
He hopes to raise £10,000 for his chosen charity.
