Post Office to close next year, as operator quits

The Post Office at Hanley Bus Station will close in March, a spokesperson says

A city centre post office branch is set to close next year, bosses have confirmed.
The operator of the Lichfield Street Post Office, located within Hanley Bus Station in Stoke-on-Trent, had submitted their resignation and that the branch would close on 16 March, a spokesperson said.
The nearest branch is located about half a mile away, inside the Potteries Centre, they said.
The Lichfield Street store's opening hours from 07:00 until 21:00 daily, whereas the Potteries Centre store is open from 09:00 until 17:30 six days per week and closed on Sundays.
"We have reviewed Post Office provision in the area and we are not looking to replace Lichfield Street branch," the Post Office spokesperson said.
Other nearby post office locations included St Judes which is a mile away and Birches Head, which is 1.23 miles away from the Lichfield Street branch.
