Police have released CCTV images of a man they are keen to speak to following a spate of break-ins.

Avon and Somerset Police said seven businesses along High Street, Regent Street, Oxford Street, Victoria Street, Adam Street and Cross Street in Burnham-on-Sea were broken into between 02:00 and 04:00 on Sunday. Cash was taken on two occasions.

The man police want to speak to is described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, wearing all black and carrying a black rucksack.

Officers are treating the incidents as linked and believe the offences were committed by the same individual.

PC Harry Long said the incidents will understandably be "alarming" to business owners and officers have increased their patrols around the area to provide reassurance.

"The man pictured is someone we are interested in speaking to as we believe he will help us further our enquiries," PC Long said.

"We appreciate the images are not the clearest but we hope someone recognises the clothing or mannerisms."

Anybody with information relating to the incidents is asked to contact police.
