Police have released CCTV images of three people they wish to trace following the death of a teenager in a river in Cheshire.

Jonty Evans, 16, was last seen just before 01:00 BST on 31 August, walking along Waterlode in Nantwich, before crossing the road and entering Mill Island, near the junction of Mill Street.

He was found dead in the River Weaver near Riverside on 1 September.

Officers have since been working to establish the circumstances surrounding how he entered the water.

Cheshire Police said it was keen to speak to anyone who entered the Mill Island area or was in the vicinity of Riverside, known locally as "the beach", between 00.30 and 06:00 BST on 31 August.

Officers are looking to identify two people who were recorded entering Mill Island at about 00:53 BST and a man who exited on to Waterlode, walking towards Nantwich town centre, at 00:59 BST.
