Orwell Bridge to be closed westbound overnight

Work started on the bridge in June

Drivers will be unable to travel westbound across the Orwell Bridge in Suffolk overnight due to closures.
National Highways said it needed to shut a lane in the contraflow system, which is in place from 20:00 until 06:00 BST, on the nights of 16 and 17 July.
The eastbound carriageway through the contraflow is to remain open.
National Highways said maintenance work to replace two expansion joints on the bridge was still on schedule and due to finish in August.
It said concrete to secure the new joints in place had now set but repairs to the contraflow road surface were now needed.
Further closures are expected, and concerns have been raised that the work is causing "chaos".
National Highways advised people to allow plenty of extra time when planning journeys over the coming days.
