Firefighters have tackled a huge blaze at a caravan and motorhomes storage facility overnight.

The fire broke out before 20:50 BST on Saturday in Stock Lane, Chadderton, Oldham, with six crews in attendance at its height, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said.

It destroyed several caravans and motorhomes, with plumes of smoke being seen for miles. There are no reports of any injuries.

The fire service said it would remain at the scene to monitor the premises and ensure the area was safe.

It is not known how the blaze started and the fire service said an investigation is due to begin.
