Consultation on plans outlining the future development of Wolverhampton is drawing to a close, leaving residents yet to comment with just a few more days to have their say on how the city should look.

The Wolverhampton Local Plan covers the growth and development of the city up to 2042, with initial plans approved by the council in February.

The council said its preferred option would see sustainable development in the allocation of 63 hectares of land for employment plus sites for 10,300 new homes.

The consultation, which started in February, closes on 10 April.

The earmarked areas are urban and would use brownfield sites, vacant properties and poor quality industrial land, while protecting local character and providing a mix of housing types.

The authority said it was not proposing to develop any green belt sites and other greenfield areas previously considered.

Council leader Stephen Simkins has said the plan is "critical" to supporting regeneration and investment in the city.
