A consultation on plans outlining a cityā€™s future development is set to begin later this month.

Residents will be asked to share their views on Wolverhamptonā€™s local plan between 26 February and 10 April, subject to the city councilā€™s approval of the scheme.

The document would act as a guide for making decisions on regeneration, investment and planning applications in the city until 2042.

It would also identify sites that would either be protected from or used for future development, including homes and infrastructure projects, the authority said.

Council leader Stephen Simkins said the local plan would not allocate any green belt sites for development.

The plan was 'critical' to support regeneration and investment in the city, he added.

A final decision on the dates of the consultation was due to be made by the council's cabinet at a meeting on 21 February.

Further details on how people could have their say would be available on the councilā€™s website as well as at their Civic Centre and in city libraries.
