A 19-year-old man was stabbed in a street in Wigan in broad daylight

A man has been charged after a 19-year-old was stabbed in a town centre street.

The victim was attacked in Market Street in Wigan on Thursday afternoon, Greater Manchester Police said.

His injuries were not life-threatening and he received treatment in hospital.

A man from Wigan, also 19, has been charged with wounding, robbery, burglary, affray and possession of a bladed article.

He appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court earlier.

A 30-year-old man who was also arrested has since been bailed pending further investigations.
