A 20-year-old man from Barry who died in a car crash in the early hours of Sunday has been named as Connor Ockerby.

In a tribute, his family said Mr Ockerby's death would leave a "huge void" in their lives and the lives of his friends.

“We are absolutely devastated to lose our beautiful boy," they said, adding his death was "something we will never get over".

The incident involved a grey Ford Fiesta and happened at about 03:50 BST on the A4055 Barry Road in Dinas Powys, Vale of Glamorgan.

Two women, one aged 21 and also from Barry and an 18-year-old from Dinas Powys, were taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff as a precaution.

"He was adored by us," his family and girlfriend said, and "loved by all of our extended family, his many friends, who all played a massive part in his life, and everyone who knew him".

South Wales Police said it was continuing to investigate the incident and appealed for any witnesses to the collision, or anyone with dash-cam footage of the car being driven, to get in touch.
