A man has been arrested after a pedestrian in his 80s was hit by a lorry on a road approaching the Dartford Crossing.

He was struck by a white Iveco articulated HGV on the slip road of the London-bound carriageway of the A2 at about 14:25 BST on Saturday, police said.

The victim was taken to a London hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

A 59-year-old man has been held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
