Runners will be raising money for a defibrillator during a charity event in Jersey.

The Heart to Heart 5k, organised by Rock n Road Runners and the Jersey Heart Support Group, begins at 18:30 BST.

The 5km (3.1-mile) run, which starts and finishes at the Freedom Tree, aims to raise money for a defibrillator to be placed outside the Radisson Hotel along the waterfront.

People entering the event have been asked to make a minimum donation of £10 each, which will be given to the Jersey Heart Support Group to help buy the defibrillator.

The charity said the hotel had been chosen as the location for a defibrillator as it was a popular location for running clubs.

It said: "Having access to this potentially life-saving device is crucial."
