Body of woman discovered in Angus river

The body of a woman has been recovered from a river in Angus, police have confirmed.

Officers said they were made aware of a body in the water at Kilry, about ten miles north of Blairgowrie, at about 16:30 on Wednesday.

The surrounding area was cordoned off by police for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the woman's death.
