Thick black smoke across borough after fire

Thick black smoke can be seen across one area of Greater Manchester after a fire at a vehicle scrapyard.
Six fire engines have been tackling the flames in Templeton Road South, Platt Bridge since about 16:00 BST.
Images shared with the BBC and on social media show the huge plume of smoke rising above Wigan.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said the blaze was now under control and two fire engines remained at the scene.
