Three teenagers have been charged in connection with the stabbing of a girl who suffered "life threatening injuries", police said.

The girl was stabbed at about 01:35 BST on 1 August on Amersham Road, at the junction with the A404, in High Wycombe.

She remains in hospital, where she is said in a stable condition, Thames Valley police confirmed.

Laiba Ashfaq, aged 18, of Cross Road, High Wycombe, and two girls, aged 17 and 13, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also both from High Wycombe, have each been charged with grievous bodily harm, burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and criminal damage.

They were all due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

A fourth teenager arrested in connection with the investigation, a 19-year-old woman from High Wycombe, was released on police bail until 25 October.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to get in touch.
