The family of a teenage motorcyclist killed in a crash in Herefordshire said they have "lost the most cheeky and fun-loving person".

Kallum Wilkes, 18, died in Monkland near Leominster on his way to work.

In a statement issued by West Mercia Police, his family said: "With hearts that are broken, we lost our beloved and cheeky son/brother in a tragic accident on the 27 February on the A44. Our lives will never be the same."

It added: "He will be sorely missed by family and friends and his memory will live on with all that met Kallum. Ride high our boy, we all love you and miss you.”

The crash happened at about 09:50 GMT and also involved a white Ford Transit van and a grey Audi A6.

Mr Wilkes died at the scene.

More than £9,000 has been raised through a crowdfunding appeal, launched by Mr Wilkes' aunt to fund his funeral.

Tracey Horne closed the appeal on Monday night and said excess funds raised would be split between mental health, blood bike and air ambulance charities.

She added she was "proud to be a Leominster girl" where everyone had rallied round to support Mr Wilkes' family.

West Mercia Police appealed for witnesses to the crash or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
