A collection of photos from the 1930s show what a region looked like from the sky.

The pictures of the North East, released by Historic England, were taken by Arthur Hobart, an early commercial photographer who started his business in the 1920s.

Aerial photographs for postcards were in demand and were believed to be Mr Hobart's largest market, Historic England said.
