An ice rink complete with a Father Christmas and food and drink is to set up in a city's former market square.

The Winter Wolverhampton attraction is expecting tens of thousands of people to attend, said organisers Harry Jones Company about its first event in the city.

Visitors can claim free entry to the event, which will run in the afternoons and evenings from 29 November until 5 January.

Tickets will have to be bought for the ice rink and can be purchased online.

"Its a first time event so we're expecting a really big turnout. It will be a place for families to get together and make some cherished memories," the Harry Jones Company said.

The Christmas themed funfair will be open between 14:00 BST and 21:00 BST throughout the week and 12:00 BST and 22:00 BST on the weekend.
