A dried-out wasp nest is believed to have caused a fire in the roof of a bungalow.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the property on Fauchons Lane, Maidstone, at about 16:20 BST on Tuesday with three fire engines, and the blaze was put out using a hose reel jet.

It was believed to have started when the warmth of a light bulb caused the nest to catch alight.

South East Coast Ambulance Service checked a woman over as a precaution due to light smoke inhalation, the fire service said.
