Proposals include a new full-size 4G pitch to replace the current Pitch Two

A rugby club preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary has submitted plans for a multimillion-pound development of its home ground.
Scarborough RUFC said the proposals for their Silver Royd site would be the "most significant investment in facilities since its opening".
Plans include a new full-size 4G pitch to replace the current Pitch Two, a 250-seat spectator stand and a third padel court.
If approved by North Yorkshire Council, the project would be funded entirely through the private support of members, donors and sponsors.
The first stage of the development would also see an extended clubhouse balcony with tiered seating for 115, an expanded squash building incorporating two new Fives courts plus new toilets.

A third padel court will meet growing demand for the sport, say plans
The field to the north of Silver Royd has been acquired by the club, which said a second planning application would be submitted in the future to create a floodlit AstroTurf pitch.
The club said it would help to address the "chronic shortage" of such facilities in Scarborough.
Later plans also include an expansion of the car park.
Fundraising for the first stage is already under way.

Chief executive Graeme Young said he was "confident" stage one will be successful
Scarborough RUFC chief executive, Graeme Young, said: "This centenary transformation project is about more than just celebrating our past, it's about securing our future."
