Broadstairs Asda store evacuated due to yard fire

Four fire engines were at the scene in Westwood Cross on Monday afternoon

An Asda store in Broadstairs has been evacuated due to a fire involving a large number of pallets.

Kent Fire & Rescue Service (KFRS) said the fire broke out in the yard of the store in Westwood Cross on Monday afternoon.

Four fire crews were sent to the scene, a KFRS spokesperson said.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the yard in a photo shared with the BBC.
