Major disruption to rail services as line blocked
- Published
A signalling problem is causing "major disruption" on trains running through Wiltshire.
Great Western Railway services between Swindon and Chippenham are either cancelled or delayed by up to an hour due to a blocked line.
"Specialist teams are on site, but are currently unable to resolve the problem," a statement said on the Network Rail website.
Passengers travelling between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads are also being warned services could be diverted or take a longer route.
Great Western Railway (GWR) said passengers should check their journey status before travelling to the station as engineers worked to resolve the issue.
"Passengers are reminded to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys during this period of disruption," GWR said.
The signal outage comes after trains were significantly disrupted at the weekend due to a shortage of staff.
Passengers who had disrupted journeys were told they could use their tickets for travel on Monday.
