Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing

A 62-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing.
Emergency services were called to Beech Rise, Roughwood Drive in Kirkby at 12:45 BST on Thursday, following reports of an incident at the property.
A man in his 60s was found with stab wounds and was taken to hospital, where he is in a serious but stable condition, Merseyside Police said.
Philip Darby, of Beech Rise, has been charged with attempted murder and will appear at South Sefton Adult Remand Court later this morning.
Det Insp Steve Byrom said: "We understand the concern that recent incidents in Knowsley have caused in the community.
"I want to assure people that extensive work is ongoing to investigate this incident.
"We will continue to respond to all information given, both in relation to this incident and all knife crime, so please come forward."
