Firefighters at large refuse blaze on industrial estate

Crews from four fire stations in Northamptonshire are at the scene

Firefighters are at an industrial estate where a large amount of refuse has caught light.

The blaze broke out at Finedon Road Industrial Estate, on Nielson Road, Wellingborough, shortly after 14:00 GMT.

A fire service spokesperson said crews from Earls Barton, Wellingborough, Irthlingborough, Rushden and an aerial appliance from Moulton were on site.

They added: "Crews are using hose-reel jets to contain and put out the fire."

Residents have been told to keep doors and windows shut due to heavy smoke and people have been told to avoid the area.
