A 17-year-old boy who was killed in a hit-and-run has been named by police as two more people are arrested over his death.

Alex Woodward, from Stoke-on-Trent, died in hospital after he was hit by a car on Dawlish Drive in the Bentilee area of the city shortly after 18:00 BST on Friday.

Two boys, aged 17 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have since been released under investigation, Staffordshire Police said.

On Monday, the force confirmed two more people - a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old woman - were also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The woman was also being held on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Both remained in custody, police confirmed.

A force spokesperson said officers were keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who might have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time.
