Town's major road set to close for 11 nights

Motorists in Greater Manchester could face delays as one of the region's busiest roads is set to close at night for almost two weeks.
Oldham Way will be closed in both directions for 11 nights, from Monday to 20 September.
The closure is for drainage and remedial works taking place on Waterloo Street Bridge, Oldham Council said.
Closures have also been announced for the M62 later this month, which Oldham's highways and transport councillor Chris Goodwin warned could have a "knock-on effect" on traffic in the area.
The Oldham Way closures will take place between 20:00 and 05:00 BST from the Manchester Road roundabout to the junction of Prince Street and Oldham Way.
An Oldham Council spokesperson said: "We apologise in advance, but by carrying out the work when traffic is at its lowest levels we hope to keep disruption to a minimum," they added.
Maintenance works will also be carried out on street lights during the closures.
The works form part of an ongoing project to "future-proof" the town's highways, which have resulted in a series of closures over the last two years.
The local authority previously said the works had been delayed by "unexpected complications".
