A body has been found in a lake during the search for a missing man, police have confirmed.

Search teams had been looking for 77-year-old Hugh, from Leek, Staffordshire, since he was reported missing on Tuesday.

They had been searching the area in and around Rudyard Lake in the Staffordshire Moorlands, where Hugh was believed to have travelled to.

Staffordshire Police said the body was found in the water on Thursday.

Formal identification has yet to take place but the body is believed to be that of missing Hugh, a force spokesperson added.

They said his death was not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.
