Police probe reports of performer hitting child

Ankerside Shopping Centre and police are investigating reports of a child being struck in the face

Reports that a performer struck a child on the face during a dinosaur show at a shopping centre are being investigated by police.
The Staffordshire force said officers were called to Ankerside Shopping Centre in Tamworth shortly before 14:30 BST on Saturday.
Officers said they received reports of violence including allegations a child was struck on the face by a man performing as part of a show.
A spokesperson for the shopping centre said they were also looking into the matter.
"We can confirm that following an incident during the Dinosaur Show at Ankerside Shopping Centre on Saturday 30 August, we have been in direct contact with all parties involved," Ankerside said in a post on Facebook.
They added: "Currently all available information is being reviewed and will be fully investigated."
Police said inquiries were continuing and that they were keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident, or who may have relevant footage.
