A man found dead in a Lancashire village more than a year ago has been formally identified from his DNA.

The man was found near Horrobin Lane in Rivington, on 7 December 2023.

Experts were able to identify him after relatives were located abroad.

Lancashire Police have not publicly identified the man while further work was under way to establish his cause of death.

The force said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
