Two further people have been charged in connection with disorder in Blackpool.

A 28-year-old man, from Blackpool, has been charged with violent disorder and assault by beating and a 32-year-old man, also from Blackpool, has been charged with violent disorder.

Both were remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates' Court later, Lancashire Police said.

The force said a 17-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder on Monday was currently in custody.

Widespread damage

Eleven other people have been charged following disorder days after the deaths of three girls in Southport.

Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, were stabbed to death at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on 29 July.

Violent disorder then erupted in towns and cities across the UK, causing injuries to officers and widespread damage, after misinformation about the suspect being an asylum seeker was shared online.
