Kent Police said the crash, which involved a Ford Fiesta and a Land Rover Defender, happened shortly after 20:30 BST on Saturday on Westerham Road, close to the junction with Larkfield Road, in Riverhead, near Sevenoaks.

The injured man, who was driving the Fiesta, was taken to a London hospital, said a force spokesperson.

"Prior to this collision, the silver Ford Fiesta was involved in a pursuit involving Kent Police officers and a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct," they added.
