A woman has been arrested on suspicion of human trafficking after police carried out raids as part of a modern slavery inquiry.

Officers raided a house on Dowlers Hill Crescent in Redditch, Worcestershire, as well as a Thai massage parlour on Market Place and another in Cheltenham.

The investigation related to a recent incident when a "vulnerable female" was found at a massage parlour in Redditch, West Mercia Police said.

"We arrested a woman in her 40s on suspicion of human trafficking and money laundering who has since been bailed pending further enquiries," Sgt David Roberts said.

Officers seized mobile phones, invoices and a safe from the address on Dowlers Hill Crescent.

"The warrants show we take concerns over modern day slavery seriously and will always act upon concerns around criminal exploitation," added Sgt Roberts.
