Four playgrounds in Surrey Heath are set for full refurbishment after the council executive approved the plans on 16 September.

The play areas at Heatherside Recreation Ground, Frimley Green Recreation Ground, Camberley Park and Woodend Road in Deepcut will be upgraded.

All four sites have been identified as needing replacement. Improvements will include durable, age-appropriate equipment and safer surfacing.

Funding of £900,000 will come from the Strategic Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Fund.

The CIL Fund is made up of payments from developers who have built in the borough and can be used to support improved infrastructure in the local area.

"These playgrounds are more than recreational spaces," the council said.

"They serve as key points of community interaction, where families meet and connect across generations and backgrounds."

The council said it will engage with residents, schools and community groups to ensure the refurbished playgrounds reflect local needs.
