Man injured following explosion at brewery

A man has suffered serious burns following an explosion at a brewery.

An explosion was reported at a commercial premises off Calva Brow in Workington at about 14:50 BST on Monday, police said.

Emergency services, including fire crews and the North West Ambulance Service, were at The Tractor Shed brewery during the afternoon.

People were asked to avoid the area while crews worked the scene.

A road closure was also put in place at Calva Brow, but police confirmed it had reopened in the evening.

North West Ambulance Service said the man was airlifted to hospital.
