Northway Mushrooms, which has a mushroom compost factory in Dungannon, has entered administration

In a statement, the company said employees would be unaffected.

The administration is part of "an ongoing sale process", which has been under way "for a number of months", a spokesperson said, and the firm will continue "to play a critical role in the all-island agri-food industry".

According to the company, the approach is "the best way to establish the secure and sustainable long-term future of the business under new ownership".

The day-to-day operations of its Agnhnagar Road substrate production facility in Dungannon "remain unaffected".

"There will be no changes for any Northway Mushrooms employees," the company spokesperson added.

Residents had previously voiced concerns about a bad smell from the site, at which compost is produced for use in the production of mushrooms.
