Hastings Borough Council will meet on Monday to discuss the impact that landslips are having on the coastal town.

Residents were forced to flee their homes after a landslip in Old Roar Gill in February.

The council set aside £250,000 on 10 June to create a special team to help with the problems and draw up a response for future incidents.

Cabinet will give an update tonight on what has happened since and the work that is being done to help people who had to leave their homes.

An insurers’ report will also be published.

The council offered temporary accommodation to all those affected by the Old Roar Gill landslip at the time of the incident.

The occupants of two properties which back onto Old Roar Gill, in Hastings, have been unable to return home since 21 February due to a landslip six days earlier.

A further two further households were told their homes were in danger.
