People are asked to send in their objections and comments again after a mistake with the consultation

A consultation on work to two junctions of the A52 has been extended by 13 days after officials realised an email address for people to use was not working.

The Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft junctions, near West Bridgford, are earmarked for work by National Highways.

Changes are being drawn up as part of plans to reduce delays, increase capacity and improve pedestrian and cyclist routes on the A52.

National Highways apologised for the error, said the Local Democracy Reporting Service, and asked residents to resubmit their objections and comments before 12 February.

Work is still timetabled to begin in autumn this year to enlarge the two junctions.

The Nottingham Knight Junction will be expanded to the east of the existing roundabout, with a new layout and a new link road from A52 eastbound.

The Wheatcroft roundabout will also be enlarged to the south of the existing roundabout, with a new hamburger layout and link road from the A52 eastbound to A606 Melton Road.

The approaches to the junction will be widened to provide extra lanes, and there will be signs and signal-controlled crossings on both roundabouts.

The planned upgrades will "improve journey time reliability through the junctions", documents say.

The overall scheme was announced in 2014.

Works on Nottingham Road and Cropwell Road junctions were completed in 2017.

In 2021, National Highways carried out work on the junctions at Bingham, Stragglethorpe, Silverdale and Gamston.
