Police have appealed for information over the shooting in Peel Street

A man was seriously injured when he was shot in the leg in Wolverhampton, police have said.

Emergency services were called to Peel Street car park just before 16:40 BST on Sunday.

Paramedics treated the injured 19-year-old before he was taken to hospital, where he remains.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said detectives were working to establish exactly where the shooting had happened and that officers remained at the scene.
