A country park has reopened after nearly 900 homes were left without power after a fault.

Moors Valley Country Park in Ashley Heath, Dorset, said the loss of power on Sunday meant its car park, visitor centre and all facilities were temporarily closed, but they were now "open as usual".

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said engineers were working to repair the outage, which began at about 08:00 BST on Sunday.

A spokesperson added that the outage had affected those in the BH21 and BH24 postcodes, but was expected to be restored by 20:00.

"Our engineers are working hard to restore power as safely and quickly as possible," the spokesperson said.

They added that as of 15:00 on Sunday, 219 were currently still without power.
